Mission, vision and values
Mission
Baltimore Brothers provides culturally responsive mentoring, youth development, education, life skills, workforce support, restorative practices, and alternatives to youth justice for Baltimore's young people.
Vision
A Baltimore where every young person has a consistent adult, a path to work or school, and a way out of conflict that does not run through the justice system.
Values
- Relationships first
- Consistent adults, over years, not sessions.
- Culturally responsive
- Programming grounded in the culture and history of the young men we serve.
- Accountability
- To young people, families, funders and the public record.
- Measurement
- If we claim it, we can define it and show the data behind it.
- Community-rooted
- We work where young people already are: blocks, schools, detention settings.
- Dignity
- No young person is reduced to their worst day.
